Are you working, parenting, supervising schoolwork, managing a household, coping with isolation, and/or wondering what changes or returns to “normal” may lie ahead? If so, you are not alone. As we navigate both a pandemic and a sense of upheaval in the world, we all could use some wisdom, insight, and practical help. To that end, RHUMC is hosting a zoom seminar with Dr. Michelle Dexter (PSY27382), licensed clinical psychologist, church member, preschool parent, and also mother of an elementary school student.
Dr. Dexter’s experience includes providing assessments, psychotherapy, and educational programming to various populations in Los Angeles. We are offering this community conversation, on Friday, September 11, at 3:30 in the afternoon, for parents and caregivers as a space to discuss common reactions to unwanted and constant change. The presentation will describe and direct our attention to three options for effectively responding to our present circumstances: acceptance, curiosity, and kindness.
