Fifty days after celebrating the empty tomb and Christ’s resurrection, churches around the world honor the day that the Holy Spirit was first poured out upon the followers of Jesus. We call it Pentecost Sunday, and we remember the sound like the rush of a strong wind, the sight of something that looked like individual tongues of fire resting upon each person, and the sudden ability to speak God’s message in many languages.
This Sunday is Pentecost and we look forward to participating in Holy Communion and sharing in the confirmation of faith of several RHUMC youth. Don’t forget to wear red!
