Noon to 12:30 pm – Lunch.
12:30 to 1:30 pm – Ed Long, J.D.

“Care planning” is the way you can obtain the health and medical care you want and avoid the care you don’t want, even if you’re ill and can’t speak for yourself. In his 20+ years serving on hospital bioethics committees and his work as an elder law attorney, Ed Long has seen care planning (or the lack thereof) produce results ranging from successful to dreadful. In this program, Ed shares the keys to care planning success.
Topics to be addressed include:
• Your right to decide
• Your right to name someone to speak for you
• How to select who to name
• The document that makes it official
• Figure out what matters to you
• Communicate with the person you’ve named
• You’ve been named – how to do a good job
• Keep everything up to date
Bring a bag lunch and join us for fellowship before the presentation.
