Have you ever looked at a drawing and asked, “How do they do that?” “How to draw” is more about “How to see.” Many times, wonderful observations become beautiful works of art, derived from the most surprisingly ordinary of things. If exploring the fascination with the ordinary sounds appealing to you, please consider dropping in to try your hand at “drawing by seeing” with church member Curtis Green on Saturday, August 5, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in the Aldersgate Room.
Complete amateurs are most welcome to what should be a fun, hands on discovery of what may be your hidden talent for drawing. Everyone gets to draw from objects that will be set up in a still life arrangement. We will be using charcoal, so be prepared to get your hands a little dirty and feel rewarded by creating your own work of art. It’ll look good over the couch, above the mantle or at least on the door of the fridge!
Contact April Herron (april@rhumc.org) or Curtis Green if you have questions. Let us know if you are planning to attend by emailing churchoffice@rhumc.org.
