August 11, 2019 – Jonathan Chute “By Faith”
Sermon: sermon
Our scripture lesson this Sunday is a beautiful statement of the meaning of faith as a way of life. The writer of the letter to the Hebrews describes faith as a journey, reminding us that we are not the first to travel to places unknown. While we have not seen where God is leading us, we are in good company as we go. We have God’s promise, and that is enough. The text for Jonathan’s sermon, “By Faith,” is Hebrews 11:1-3, and 8-16.

August 18, 2019 – SSP Participants “A Place at the Table”
Sermon: sermon
An important summer ministry tradition at RHUMC is the sending of youth from our community, along with their adult counselors, to participate in the Sierra Service Project. This year, our 7th and 8th graders went to San Diego to contribute to on-going projects and learn about ecology and border dynamics. The senior high group traveled to Spokane, Washington, for their week of service. Our Youth Ministry Director, Kristin Reksc, led both teams. This coming Sunday, August 18, as an expression of gratitude of the support received from the congregation, we will be led in worship by the youth and the adults who worked together to make SSP 2019 a success. The theme of worship will be taken from Romans 12:9, “Let love be genuine.”
