This week’s gospel finds Jesus teaching in a local synagogue. While the content of what he said is not recorded, the impact of his words and his presence is dramatic. Both the people of the congregation, and even a demonic spirit, recognize the authority with which he speaks. It is not like anything they have heard before. The text for Jonathan’s sermon is Mark 1:21-28, and his title is “Authorized.”
We will be celebrating the baptism of Sophia Grace and John Joseph Treviño. Sophia and John are the children of Michelle and John Treviño, and are both graduates of our preschool. The family moved here from Texas in 2014, and we are glad to celebrate God’s grace with their family and friends at the 10 a.m. service.
After 3rd service don’t forget it’s Taco Night, with all you can eat chicken, steak and pork tacos, rice & beans, chips and salsa, and even something to drink for the suggested donation of $5/person or $15/family. We hope you can come and stay a while.
Our youth and families will also have the chance to welcome Kristin Reksc as our new Youth Director, with tables reserved for them to hang out together and think about good things to come!
See you at church!
